The Ole Miss Women’s Council for Philanthropy, an innovative and groundbreaking scholarship and mentorship program, began in February 2000 when an accomplished group of female leaders and philanthropists committed to make a dramatic impact on the lives of University of Mississippi students. Now, the Council provides scholarships to assist selected young women and men with college expenses. Moreover, Council members mentor these scholars from their freshman year through graduation, giving them the opportunity to develop life skills by participating in leadership training, community service projects, cultural enrichment activities and alumni networking.
The Council continually seeks resources to accomplish its goal of identifying and nurturing excellent students who are committed to improving the university while on campus and to transforming society at large after graduation.
